A tale of Adventure, Chapter 1

Heroica Stoica Axeica Gatreng IX, the worlds bravest hero, was sitting, a dejected lump, on the side of the road. A ragged knapsack hung from a tree behind him. He had been banished for daring to speak out against Lord Sinister, King of the known world. Gatry was the only person who knew that Sinister was secretly planning to place his son on the throne instead of Paul, the real heir to the throne. The general public believed that the archmage was an upstart who had murdered his brother to claim the title. But who could face such a cruel sorcerer? Who, that is, except Gatry. The hero sighed again. But as he sat, in the pit of despair, nine figures suddenly leaped out in front of him. Trolls! Gatry, startled, pulled out his battle-axe and jumped, doing a flip over the nearest troll. He then proceeded to thoroughly trounce the clumsy monsters, knocking them all out, then tying them together. Gatry was so pleased with his success, he didn't notice three more trolls, who hit him on the head and stuffed him in a sack. "Take him to the master." groaned one, and the others grunted an agreement and began dragging him off.

National Humor month

My dad found this list of prompts for teachers: click here to see list. Here is some writing from the prompt.

A vampire bat comes back to the cave covered in fresh blood. The other bats are going crazy, asking him where he got it, and finally he leads them up a mountain, through a forest, and into a dense jungle. "OK," says the first bat. "see that tree over there?" "Yes,yes!" scream the other bats in a frenzy. "Good." says the first bat. "Because I DIDN'T!!!"

National Poetry month Prompt 9 from Bud the teacher

The following is a poem I wrote based on this prompt from Bud the teacher

Beneath the old clock tower
Shapeless figures consult maps
As golden mist gleams
Overhead
The tower stands like a tin soldier
Proud and unbending

A book Review for "Outcast of Redwall" by Brian Jacques

I recently read Outcast of Redwall. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 9 because because it had a good plot. Outcast of Redwall is about a young badger, a small mouse, and an evil ferret with a curious fate. If you like adventure, this book is for you! A badger called Scumtripe escapes from his tormentors, renames himself Sunflash the Mace, and a hero is born. A mouse adopts a vermin, and destiny is made. Veil, the ferret, is banished, and vows revenge. What will happen to them? Read the book to find out.

A poem I made, based on this picture:

The following is a poem I wrote based on this National Poetry Month prompt from budtheteacher.

barn blues

Dusk.
Gray shadows ripple across the sky.
A battered pickup sits on yellowing grass, and it seems to be nostalgic over something...What?
Is the paint on the barn it guards fading?
Is the truck missing it's former owner, perhaps?
Who can delve into the minds of machines?
Who will ever know?
